The cost of the Millennium medical record system in the VÀstra Götaland Region (which collapsed a few hours after implementation), is estimated at a total of approximately SEK 5.5 billion.
Total cost: SEK 5.5 billion for the entire system.
Budget: The VÀstra Götaland Region's budget for the program was SEK 3.4 billion, but this has been exceeded.
Consulting costs: A total of SEK 799 million has been paid in consulting costs until October 2024.
Ongoing costs: Despite the break, the region has had ongoing consulting costs of approximately SEK 14 million per month.
All this gigantic amount of money straight into the bin for a completely useless system. Money that could be used for medical purposes and improvements. As usual, taxpayer's money in Sweden is often used and abused by total incompetents and nobody is ever held accountable for anything. New billions will be spent on another functioning system đ
